Cecconi’s is launching a brunch “feast” this Sunday, and although you will have to go get your own food (the spread is being served buffet style) the booze will come to you. The suddenly popular “Bloody Mary cart” (also on offer at Tudor House’s brunch) will be roving, and the $35 cost includes 1 complimentary bellini.
They are installing the requisite carving stations that large scale hotels like the Ritz-Carlton and Fontainebleau have perfected, and since the tables are packed in pretty tightly at this intimate locale in comparison, we do have to wonder where they are going to put it all.
Beyond the scrambled eggs and omelets, you can expect to see a “sweets station” with ricotta pancakes, waffles, croissants and various pastries, as well as the usual assortment of cold cuts, roast beef and pork. Also look for some American-Italian comfort foods, like macaroni and cheese, and Cecconi’s wood oven baked meatballs (which we can’t get enough of during happy hour and as a late night snack). We’d plan on heading directly for the raw bar, which will be loaded with seafood salads, tartars and freshly shucked oysters.
