The outpouring of support for Haiti continues this Thursday
with a gourmet-themed fundraiser at the Hotel InterContinental. Called Chefs
With a Purpose: Haiti, this event will feature Miami’s top toques cooking up
special dishes for the well-heeled, philanthropic crowd. Some of the star chefs
include Andrea Curto-Randazzo (Talula), Clay Conley (Azul), Johnny Vinczencz (Johnny
V Las Olas), Jonathan Eismann (Pacific Time), Jonathan Wright (The Setai Miami
Beach) and Tim Andriola (Timo), and Noah French (The Setai). Most of the chefs are using the Caribbean
region as their culinary inspiration for the night.
Short Order previewed the menu and some of our favorites include Caribbean fruit ceviche (Hotel InterContinental Miami); lobster ravioli with a creamy Creole sauce (Angelique Euro Café); pork belly with plantains, shrimp and barbancourt glaze (Azul); braised lamb and fried plantains (Two Chefs); hot smoked salmon loin with mustard caviar and dill (Gibraltar at Grove Isle); leg of duck confit “meatballs” with pesto (Johnny V Las Olas); and mango ravioli with mango and pineapple salad (The Setai Miami Beach).
Rounding out the night are cocktails from Chopin vodka, music by DJ Joe Dert and a silent auction featuring items such as a three-night stay at the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas. One hundred percent of proceeds from the evening will go directly to the International Firefighters Assistance and their relief efforts in Port Au Prince. Admission is $50, and includes food and drink. The event runs from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Thursday night.
