Eat with a Friend at Kouzíne’s Café and Get One Lunch Free

When gourmet catering outfits also open up shop with a la carte for the paying public, something tasty usually results.  It’s true at Whisk in Coral Gables, and now at Kouzíne’s Delicacies and Wines a short ride away.

Owners Claudia Batlle and Mariela Valdez Roman are behind this gourmet market and catering outfit on Coral Way (they moved a few blocks west from the original location in May.)  And now is just the time to drop in for a visit, since they are offering a 50 percent off deal for parties of two who come in for lunch through the end of this week.

Choose among empanadas, quiches, sandwiches, wraps, and panini. 

Empanadas are a steal at $1.95 and come in beef, cheese, chicken, and

spinach.  Individual quiches are $3.50 (12 inch pies are $18,) and come

in ham and cheese, shrimp, and vegetable. You can’t go wrong with the Italian prosciutto/mozzarella or Spanish jamón serrano/manchego paninis for $7.50.

Perhaps most enticing are Kouzíne’s menu items made with the

artisan products it carries.  A unique Malbec

wine jelly from favorite Argentinian brand Almacen del Sur, makes a cameo on

the brie panini.  For breakfast or a coffee break, take dainty bites out of Kouzíne’s Beignets Combo.  $6 translates into an order of house-made French beignets with either a cappuccino or espresso, and your choice of Malbec jelly, Torrontes wine jelly, rose petals confiture or a selection of artisan fruit jams.

one lunch special runs through August 21 and is available from 12 – 2 p.m.
