As described earlier by Lee Klein, The vibe was laid-back and family friendly at Thursday night’s mobile food court. Trucks gathered just north of midtown, behind the Publix on 47th and Biscayne. Hungry groups of friends congregated in front of their favorite trucks, while the adventurous sorts wandered about, sampling the flavors. Food truck owners and their staffs smiled and chatted with patrons while serving them burgers and tacos, seafood and sweets. The presence of curious children and playful dogs gave the feeling that this isn’t just a fading urban fad, but maybe a permanent (though movable) addition to Miami’s food culture.
The event was organized by the Burger Beast and ran from 6 to 10 p.m. Participants included: La Camaronera’s Fish Box, Divan Bakery and Coffee, The Rolling Stove, Dim Ssam a gogo, Latin House Grill, Sugar Rush, Ms. Cheezious, Latin Burger and Taco, Burger Beast, and Daddy’s Grill.
