Restaurateurs south of Fifth Street are joining forces to raise money for the tragic situation in Haiti. Held at Smith & Wollensky tomorrow, January 26, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., this gourmet gathering will feature area restaurants such as Joe’s Stone Crab, Tap Tap, Clarke’s, DeVito, Red, and China Grill.

Hungry philanthropists will contribute to a worthwhile cause while noshing on dishes such as chilled au poivre filet (Smith & Wollensky), stone crab ceviche (Joe’s Stone Crab), antipasti and cheese (DeVito), and shepherd’s pie (Clarke’s). The merriment will continue with a Haitian band and cocktails from Ketel One to Grolsch and Budweiser.

Tickets cost $100 per person, and 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the relief efforts in Haiti via three charitable organizations, U. of M. Global Institute, Project Medishare, and EcoWorks International. Admission fees are required by check (in order to save on merchant fees) and should be made out to South of Fifth Fundraiser. RSVP is not required.
