A new restaurant and lounge is set to open in downtown Miami, bringing an eclectic mix of healthful foods, juices, decadent meals, and clubbing to the former Mia space.
Imperia, a two-story, 5,000-square-foot multi-use space, will open Friday, January 31, at 6 p.m. with a party featuring Fiat cars on display, a raffle for vacations to Mexico, and food samplings by chef Carlos Nevarez.
Imperia is a three-fold endeavor.
The first, Imperia Restaurant, seats 220 people both indoors and out and offers a menu of Caribbean/American food featuring frita sliders ($9.50); bloody mary ceviche ($12); shrimp empanadas ($7); Island Paradisio Salad ($9.95); a Jibarito sandwich, Hawaiian marinated top round steak, with lettuce, tomato, red onion, cilantro mayo, and fried green plantains ($9); and steak or chicken pinchos ($16).

The Imperia Healthy Garden is a juice bar and restaurant serving healthier options such as avocado wraps ($8.95); green rice pilaf, organic brown rice, chopped spinach, parsley, scallions, tossed with pesto and side of hummus ($10.95); and a tofu chop, organic brown rice, chopped grilled tofu, tossed with tomatoes, red cabbage, carrots, and cucumbers ($10.95). The Healthy Garden will also offer a range of fruit and vegetable juices ($5.95) and meal-replacement shakes ($8.95).
Then, of course, there’s the club. Imperia Lounge will be open Friday nights beginning at 11 p.m., and will be open Saturday nights in the near future. The club, decorated in Victorian plum, black, and silver, is meant to evoke a royal atmosphere.
