We may be a little biased when we say that Iron Fork is our favorite fall food event in Miami, but even if this weren’t a New Times event we’d still be buying our tickets for the biggest, baddest, tastiest night out in the 305.
The fifth annual Iron Fork is October 18 at Grand Central.
From 7 to 10 p.m., sample chow from 40 of Miami’s best restaurant, drink your fill from the open bar, and listen to live music as you prepare yourself for the modern-day gladiator-like bloodsport that is Iron Fork’s main events — the Iron Fork chef battle and food truck battle.
This year pits Top Chef alum and chef for the upcoming Swine Southern

2012. Just like the gladiators in the Roman Coliseum, these men must
fight each other using skill, cunning, knives, fire, and possibly a
blender (if they had blenders in ancient Rome).
Then, food truck
favorites Alfredo “Red Beret” Montero from Mr. Good Stuff and Robyn “Hellfire” Almodovar from
Palate Party (and Hell’s Kitchen survivor) will duke it out street (food)
style in a battle of wits and griddles.
Tickets for Iron Fork
2012 are only $40 general admission, $70 VIP (which gets you into the
event at 6 p.m. for an extra hour of eating and drinking), but since we
