When the Miami Heat wanted to celebrate their victory in a sweet way, they called the cake masters at Divine Delicacies to bake them a custom trophy cake.
Laura Candeau, director of sales at Divine Delicacies, said the order came in last minute. With about two hours to create a cake worthy of champions, the baker-to-the-stars proceeded to create a cake with a giant edible gold trophy on top.
How did the bakers make such an elaborate cake in only two hours? Shhh…there’s a secret.
The gold-colored trophy piece was already in the works — on spec. Candeau said the bakery started working on the sugar trophy during game five. “I was very confident they were going to win,” Candeau told Short Order.

The four-tiered vanilla rum cake was topped with a giant edible replica of the O’Brien championship trophy. The cake featured the players’ jerseys around the red tier, with six bands og gold Swarovsky crystals providing a touch of bling. Airbrushed fondant flames around the tiers, a custom-made Swarovsky crystal Heat logo, and sparklers provided additional sparkle to the cake.
In addition, a smaller cake was created as a belated birthday surprise for Udonis Haslem, who celebrated his June 9th birthday this weekend.
Here’s a look at the cake, in all its glory:
