Last week, the Roots in the City Farmers Market in Overtown announced it would close owing to a code enforcement violation notice. Now the sponsors say they will resume business tomorrow.
It seems the permit issues with the city have been smoothed over, and the market will likely continue to operate through May. Returning will be vendors such as Homestead’s Bee Heaven Farm, which has been selling its organic produce at the market since its inception.
The Roots in the City Farmers Market takes place Wednesdays from noon to 5 p.m. at the corner of NW Second Avenue and Tenth Street in Overtown.
