People strolled through Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden’s Edible Garden Festival this past Saturday and Sunday to be entertained and informed about planting their own gardens.

There was something for everyone. Kids got to pick their favorite pumpkin, adults sampled fall beers and ciders, and everyone enjoyed the gardens, which were decorated for Halloween with imaginative scarecrows, ghosts made from giant palm fronds and little witches made from gourds.

A farmer’s market sold Hani Khouri’s goat cheese, farm fresh vegetables, and homemade preserves. Nurseries and gardeners sold seedlings and ready-to-eat boxes filled with herb gardens and tomatoes.
