When Bravo decided to make Rocco’s Dinner Party, the producers were probably trying to figure out what to do with all the reality show “celebrities” still under contractual obligation. The answer? Put them around a dinner table, call them Rocco DiSpirito’s friends, and have Rocco judge three chefs on the basis of what they cook for the party.
The end result is surprisingly interesting. Three chefs are given a party theme and each chef has to cook a menu based on the theme. Last week’s theme was “Harlem Speakeasy,” with the chef/contestants cooking for Marcus Samuelsson (who happens to own a Harlem Speakeasy).
Though we don’t know this week’s theme, we do know that a lot of people will be seeing double, because Miami’s own twin chefs will be competing against each other tonight. Chefs Nicola and Fabrizio Carro, the executive chefs of Quattro Gastronomia Italiana in South Beach will make up two of the three contestants. The third contestant will be catering chef Ninamarie Bojekian, a Jersey Girl turned caterer, who likens her food to high-end clothes “it’s couture catering.”
Watch the twins (hopefully) outcook Ninamarie tonight. Rocco’s Dinner Party airs Wednesdays on Bravo at 10 p.m.
