If you like socializing on the scenic terrace of Smith & Wollensky while sampling unlimited sips from some 100 whites, reds, rosés, Ports, Moscatels and White Vinho Verdes, all from Portugal, at a very low price ($25) — well, this coming Monday, March 8, is your lucky day.
The event is brought to you by Fenadegas, the national association of wine cooperatives in Portugal, which represents 27 associated wineries and more than 15,200 wine producers. Some of the Portuguese winemakers will be present to talk about their distinctive varietals.
The consumer portion of the sipping soiree swings from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., so there ought to be a majestic sunset as backdrop. A “large portion of proceeds” will benefit the South Florida Chapter of the American Institute of Food and Wine. Get your tickets right here and now.
The Fenadegas tasting opens at 3:00 p.m. for members of the trade, who can traipse in free with proper credentials.
