It’s only fitting that Tobacco Road turns 99 on 11/11/11, surviving hurricanes, prohibition, cocaine busts, South Beach, and the condo boom.

At times, the Road has tried it’s hand at many things. It’s been a speakeasy, gambling den, gay bar, strip joint, and blues bar, all the while retaining it’s real identity — a place to get your drink on.

In a city that sometimes seems a little too shiny and new, Tobacco Road is a refreshing change of pace. It’s a place to get a cheeseburger, a beer and a shot while having your feet stick slightly to the floor.

drinks (TBA), will be served for just under a buck, while everything

else will be discounted to $2.99.

A nonstop lineup of musicians will perform, including Mayday, The Regs, Araka, Sounduo, and DJ Oski.

is $10, but veterans and current military personnel get in free with

I.D. (it is, after all, Veteran’s Day). The party runs until 5 a.m., so

pace yourself.

Owner Patrick Gleber has big plans to celebrate.

“I’m going to hang out with 1,500 of my closest friends. Then, at 6 a.m.

Saturday morning, after my 99th beer, I’m going to hang myself.”
