The guys of Miami-based Arboles Libres have become darlings of a wide swath of the South Florida scene thanks to their geographically inclusive musical approach. The rock en español crowd loves the group for its frequent foray into Spanish lyrics. That’s only a little piece of Arboles’ musical mosaic, though. There is much for English speakers to love in the band’s jangly take on ’90s-style indie rock in upbeat, bilingual songs such as “Comienzo,” as well as in deeper, twangy folk cuts such as “Aurora.” Lead singer and songwriter Juan Ignacio “Nacho” Londono, meanwhile, makes a lovable poster-boy frontman with his shaggy good looks, ensuring a healthy female contingent at all of the band’s shows.
