It seems another Miami band has gotten its gear stolen. New Times reported yesterday that Torche, currently on tour with Circa Survive and Coheed and Cambria, had a slew of equipment jacked in Chicago on Friday, including a guitar, bass, pedals, iPod, and passports. The incident precludes their continuing on the tour into Canada.

And now, while stopping over in Montreal on Monday, the members of Awesome New Republic, on tour with Coral Springs-based MillionYoung, had their passports, various documents, and a black MacBook Pro stolen. The blog and record label Ten Thousand Islands, which houses ANR, warns of a “pretty tight criminal ring set up” with people who “wash cars during the day and rob vans at night, using lithium battery detectors to find iPods, computers, GPS’s.” Weird irony? The band resumes its tour tonight in Chicago.
