Mara Lee Miller, a.k.a. Bosque Brown, felt the cataclysmic effect of Hurricane Katrina. Her grandparents, who lived near Biloxi, Mississippi, were forced to flee their home of more than 50 years, an episode that scarred both their surroundings and their psyches. Miller documents their experience with the four-song Cerro Verde. “Clouds grow/Rain knows/It’s coming for me,” Miller frets. It’s a simple declaration but an ominous one, considering what lay in store.
