The light poetics of folk duo Friction Farm provide a nice country-pop respite from the seemingly homogeneous adult alternative world that dominates radio. The group’s songs are not so much ground-breaking tunes, though, as they are melodious and infectious folk nuggets that couple pretty harmonies with a contemplative simplicity. You’ll feel like you took an Ambien, but in a good way. Catch them at Aroma Coffee Bar on June 5 for $7. Other acts will begin the show, but Friction Farm goes on at 9 p.m. Aroma is located at 3656 W. Hillsboro Blvd. in Deerfield Beach.
