British DJ-producer Matt Tolfrey has staked his place on the international EDM scene since launching his esteemed Leftroom imprint in 2005. Home to acclaimed artists like Glimpse, Inxec, and Marc Ashken, Leftroom brings a deep and forward-thinking flair to tech-house.
Since Leftroom’s launch, Tolfrey has gone on to host a regular label night at legendary London music hub T Bar, alongside those of local luminaries such as Andrew Weatherall and Craig Richards.
As a producer, Tolfrey crafts his own singular strain of electronic funk, a smooth hybrid of deep house and techno streamlined through a stark, stripped-down minimal style. As a DJ, he specializes in deep and sultry peak-time dance cuts best enjoyed in the confines of a dark club at the height of the night.
It’s no surprise, then, that he has made his sets well known at underground hotspots the world over, from London’s Fabric and Berlin’s Watergate, to Miami’s Space, where he will be alighting on Saturday night for an exclusive performance at the Techno Loft.
