Gucci Mane is one of the greatest rappers of the past ten years. But his performance at the Sex on the Beach convention, witnessed by no more than 60 people, looked like a scene out of Spinal Tap, except instead of an outdated rock band in a bowling alley, the trap king played an empty porn expo on South Beach.

Three off-duty cops manned the entrance to the hall. But they didn’t check for badges, tickets, or anything else. Straggling industry chicks and camera dudes walked in, and stage crews were busily breaking down booths.
Cocaine cowboy Mickey Munday stunted through the Miami Beach Convention Center as expensive bass rung out through the empty space. But Gucci rapped the hits and earned his check as if a thousand strong club full of hooligans were rocking right along with him. Here’s what the show looked like.
