If he wasn’t a graphically ingenious (albeit conceptually vacant) international art star, would anyone give a shit about Shepard Fairey‘s DJ sets? Nope. Not unless they were drunk and dying for a dose of radio-ready epicness.
But he’s the dude who invented OBEY and Obama’s campaign poster. So Saturday night at Fountain Art Fair, Fairey was handed the headliner slot. Result: A steady stream of semi-ironic rock, classic hip-hop, and predictable punk cuts.
