No, we’re not fucking with you.

We know, we know. We just reported not a month ago the terribly sad news that after ten years of providing SoFla’s local music scene with one of its most beloved stages, and Miami’s drinking crowd with one of its favorite boozing spots, Transit Lounge was closing its doors once and for all. And that was totally true.

News was released indicating that the owner of the land had lost an ongoing foreclosure battle, forcing Transit to close its doors. But it seems all is not lost.

But we’ve just learned from the venue that they’re no longer closing up shop. In a last ditch effort to negotiate on behalf of the space, owner Will Edwards managed a little wheeling and dealing, and inked an agreement to buy the land himself, saving Transit and keeping Miami in good music and reasonable drinks for the long haul.
