Uh Huh Her sounds like one of those slightly glitchy L.A. pop bands you hear during your favorite edgy cable TV series and consequently keeps you watching through the closing credits to find out who it was. Luckily for that comparison, cofrontwoman Leisha Hailey happens to play Alice Pieszecki on Showtime’s The L Word. As a musician, she toiled with the Murmurs before joining up with ex-Mellowdrone bassist/keyboardist Camila Grey, the darker of the two in both look and demeanor.

The group is touring behind its debut Nettwerk Records EP, I See Red, while the band’s first album, Common Reaction, sits in the pipe for August release. Hailey, though psyched about the iTunes response to the song “Say So” (which reached number 28 in the iTunes Top 100), is very much looking forward to Common Reaction‘s release. “We were so excited to work with Al Clay, who had previously mixed our last EP, this time with him producing. I think he did such a good job with our sound, taking it to such an elevated level from our EP.”

They’ll be in “full band form” at the Studio A show. “We finally have a drummer after touring with our precious iPod as our drummer for so long,” Hailey says. “We’re ready to rock out a little more this time — there’s a lot more guitars.”

Where does all of this rock and roll stuff leave Alice? Says Hailey: “L Word is shooting their final season this year, so enjoy all the Alice you can get.”
