A while ago, I posted about a very cool blog called the South Florida Music Scene Past and Present, which is devoted to hosting downloadable versions of all kinds of yesteryear goodness. Luckily, the blog’s creator, Chip (formerly of the Miami hardcore band Destro) continues to update it, still focusing mainly on punk and hardcore of the mid-Nineties to early 00s.
Recently, he shouted out another, similar blog: Cosmic Hearse. While it’s devoted to a larger scope of hard-to-find, mostly rock recordings that the blog’s author likes, there are a whole lot of posts devoted to Florida bands of the Eighties and early Nineties.
Missed listening to a 1983 tape self-released by South Florida punk rockers Gay Cowboys in Bondage? It’s here. Remember the band Jud Jud? You know, the Nineties kind-of-straightedge-hardcore-joke band whose lyrics, if I remember correctly, all went something like, “Judddddd…. JUD JUD JUD”? Need a refresher? Click here.
Seriously, this blog’s Florida archives are amazing; I just spent a while on some old Load and Roach Motel records. Click here to check them out.
