After a warrant was issued for his arrest last week, a judge has ordered that troubled former NFL player Chad Johnson head back to jail for violating the terms of his probation.
After domestic violence charges ended his marriage to reality TV star Evelyn Lozada, Johnson was sentenced to a year of probation for head-butting her. The sentence included mandatory counseling sessions and meetings with a probation officer, but Broward judge Kathleen McHugh felt that Johnson wasn’t taking either very seriously.
Johnson so far has missed several meetings with his probation officer, and has not yet finished his counseling sessions.
“At this point, from what I’m hearing so far, I don’t think you’re taking probation seriously, I don’t,” McHugh said according to NBC Miami.

Johnson claimed however that the missed meetings were due to miscommunications and misunderstandings between him and the probation officer.
“I didn’t do anything on purpose,” Johnson said. “I wouldn’t blatantly not show up.”
McHugh ordered Johnson back to jail, and he was promptly arrested. However, he likely won’t stay their long. His bond was set at $1,000.
A follow-up hearing has been set for June 3. Prosecutors are seeking a 60-day stint in jail as punishment.
