Some particularly annoying men love to derail online feminist discussion with the war chant of “Not All Men,” to the point that it’s been memefied and ridiculed.
What’s scary though is the amount of men who try to justify their sexual violence against women by claiming that, well, “yes all men.” Eberto Medrano-Ramirez was arrested for and admitted to sexually assaulting a woman a the Clevelander on South Beach this weekend, but tried to defend himself to police by proclaiming, “I had a naked girl next to me and I did what any man would have done.”
According to police, the victim in the case was a young woman on vacation from Philadelphia. She told police she had been intoxicated and originally went back to her hotel room at about 3:30 a.m. on Sunday morning. She’s not sure what happened next, but wound up naked on the hotel’s rooftop.
That’s when she ran into Medrano-Ramirez, a 30-year-old employee who works for a cleaning service contracted by the hotel. She says that the man offered to help her off of the roof and took her to an elevator. That’s when he sexually assaulted her.

She returned to her room, and contacted police a while later. Medrano-Ramirez was then found working in the hotel lobby, and explained he was cleaning on the roof when the woman came out of the elevator completely naked.
According to NBC Miami, that’s when he told people in Spanish, “I apologize, I know that I f—ed up, I had a naked girl next to me and I did what any man would have done.”
Medrano-Ramirez was charged with one count of sexual battery, and later released on $10,000 bond.
