Malcolm Gladwell’s 10,000-hour rule stipulates that a person needs about 10,000 hours of practice to completely master a task. Dallas Cowboys player Dez Bryant however thinks that LeBron James would only need about two weeks to become an NFL-ready wide receiver.
“That dude is just that talented,” Bryant told ESPN Dallas. “I think it would take him probably about a good two weeks to get very acquainted with football, knowing what he’s supposed to do. I think that’s all he’d need with his physical ability.
“I’ve seen a little bit of his highlights from high school. He’s got the hands, he can run the routes, he’s fast enough. He could play in this league if he put it all together.”
James did play football for three seasons in high school, but most players come into the NFL with the full high school football experience and at least two or three years at the college level. Then again, former Miami Hurricane basketball player and current New Orleans Saint Jimmy Graham only played a year of football before entering the League.

While James has always liked to flirt with the idea of an NFL career, it’s not likely to happen. But considering the Dallas Cowboys are his favorite team, we bet he’s flattered by Bryant’s statements.
