The latest episode in Dwyane Wade’s personal saga with his ex-wife Siohvaughn Funches-Wade couldn’t have come at a worse time. In the midst of the NBA finals, Wade’s lawyers have filed a petition to suspend Siohvaughn’s right to visitation with their two sons following an incident this weekend that ultimately lead to her arrest.
Though Wade had been awarded full custody of his two sons, Zaire and Zion, Funches-Wade still has visitation rights. The two young boys were visiting their mother in Chicago this weekend, but when Wade’s sister came to pick them up for their flight to Miami, Funches-Wade allegedly barricaded herself and her boys in her home for hours.
Funches-Wade was ultimately arrested and charged with attempted child abduction, unlawful visitation interference and resisting arrest.
Today, according to the AP, just hours before Game Four of the NBA Finals, Wade’s lawyers have filed a motion petitioning a Chicago judge to strip Funches-Wade’s visitation rights.

The Wades originally filed for divorce in 2007, but a drawn-out legal battle delayed their official divorce until 2010. After another protracted courtroom battle, Wade was granted full custody of his sons in 2011.Though, they still saw their mother every other weekend.
