Don’t believe everything you see on Snapchat, kids.
Earlier this month 15-year-old Patrick Lopez from the Florida Keys received a video on Snapchat of his cousin holding a large amount of money. Naturally, the boy decided to round up four of his friends and rob his own cousin.
On August 12, five boys, including Lopez, drove to his cousin’s home, used crowbars to pry their way in, and then went through shoe boxes trying to find the cash.
Problem is the family and its dog was still home.

Naturally, the dog was the first to wake up and started barking, this in turn woke up Lopez’s aunt.
The boys who were inside at the time fled but not before grabbing a MacBook Pro.
When police arrived, the aunt pretty quickly deduced that her nephew had been involved. Police then rounded up the suspects and ended up arresting Lopez, another 15-year-old, a 16-year-old, a 17-year-old, and 18-year-old Kevin Hawthorne. They were all charged with burglary and grand theft.
