Jackie Gleason may have thought, “As always, the Miami Beach audience is the greatest audience in the world,” but the best place for a party pad in Miami? Apparently he thought that was on a golf course just outside of Hialeah. The television icon’s former home in the Country Club area of western Miami-Dade goes up for auction on Saturday, and with it comes a bit of television history.
Gleason, famous for his role on The Honeymooners, relocated his variety show, The Jackie Gleason Show, to Miami Beach in 1964. A year later he had this 9,250-square-foot pad built for him in the census-designated area of Country Club. The home takes up three lots right along a golf course, and includes a large guest house that played host to some of Gleason’s famous guests.
While not as architecturally stunning as “The Jackie Gleason House” in Miami Beach, nor his former chapeau in Peekskill, the home is still a nice representation of mid-century Florida architecture. But don’t take our words for it. See for yourself.

The auction starts on Saturday through Auction Company of America, but the winner doesn’t just get the home. The package also includes Honeymooners memorabilia, one of the bus driver outfits seen on the show, some diamond jewelry, sports memorabilia, a Rolex walk, and a custom golf cart.
