Jeremy Kaiser attacked an off-duty police officer who was working security at the Whole Foods in Aventura. Both Kaiser and the officer are recovering from their wounds, with Kaiser appearing in his mugshot with lacerations on his face and a turban of gauze around his head. Kaiser is being held on $20,000 bond.

According to Local 10, Kaiser attacked Aventura Lt. Michael Bentolila. He was booked into jail this morning just before 5 a.m.

The trouble started when Kaiser was acting suspiciously inside the Whole Foods. The officer asked him to leave, but Kaiser refused. The suspect then apparently jumped on Bentolila and started pummeling him. Bentolila used a Taser on Kaiser, but the stun gun had little effect and Kaiser continued to attack the officer. At one point Kaiser tried to reach for the officer’s gun.

An off-duty Miami-Dade Firefighter was also present, and got involved in the scuffle and helped subdue Kaiser.
