Michael Vivanco, a 22-year-old substitute teacher and coach at Felix Varela Senior High School, is behind bars today after admitting to a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old boy he met on a gay hook up app for mobile phones. He faces charges of harmful material to a minor, lewd and lascivious battery, and lewd and lascivious conduct.
According to Police, Vivanco first contacted the boy on Jack’d, a location based app for gay men similar to the more popular Grindr app. The boy was not a student. The two exchanged numbers and began texting each other. Vivanco sent messages like, “Show me ur body :).”
Eventually the two met and Vivanco drove the boy to an undisclosed location where the boy performed oral sex.
Vivanco, who also coached the boy’s and girl’s volleyball teams at the school, admitted to meeting the boy on the app and that he knew he was underage.
