Lieutenant Edward Law found himself of the wrong end of, well, the law. The Opa-locka police officer was arrested on Friday night while driving his unmarked police cruiser after rear ending another car on the Golden Glades interchange. Police say he was intoxicated.

Law was off-duty at the time but still driving a department vehicle. Luckily no one was injured after he drove into the back of the other vehicle.

A Florida Highway Patrol trooper responded to the scene, NBC6 reports, and noted that Law’s eyes were bloodshot, his speech was slurred and he smelled of alcohol. Law then failed a roadside sobriety test.

Law then found himself transported to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. He was charged with DUI with property damage and careless driving.
