Pablo Guzman ran away from a Super Bowl week shooting outside a downtown club, evaded an off-duty cop’s barrage of bullets, and successfully made his escape to Cancun, Mexico.
But his luck ran out when he tried to catch a flight from Cancun to Panama City over the weekend.
Guzman, a 34-year-old Miami resident, is back in custody today after Immigrations and Customs Enforcement officers booked him in the Panamanian capital, says Officer Jeffrey Giordano, a City of Miami spokesman.
Back on Feb. 4, the Thursday before the Super Bowl, Guzman was hanging at MIA at Biscayne, a newish club at 20 Biscayne Blvd., when he got into a nasty fight with another clubber named Nelson Fuentes.

Around 4:30, after the fight spilled out of the club and into the street, police say Guzman pulled a handgun and blasted several shots into Fuentes. An off-duty cop pulled his gun and took several shots at Guzman as he fled, but none found their mark.
The whole dustup caused a bit of stir at the time because the club is next door to the InterContinental Hotel, where the New Orleans Saints were staying.
Fortunately, Drew Brees wasn’t injured and Fuentes is expected to recover from his injuries.
Guzman somehow made his way out of Miami after the conflict, flying to Cancun, Mexico.
Last Thursday, he tried to keep moving, booking a flight from Cancun to Panama City. ICE agents were waiting on the ground, says Giordano, and booked him for attempted murder.
Guzman’s only previous criminal record was two counts of disorderly conduct.
