Police fatally shot a machete-wielding man who was attacking another man on a northwest Miami street Saturday evening.
A Miami-Dade corrections officer summoned a Miami Police officer at 6:35 p.m., after he witnessed a man swinging a machete at another man on NW 12th Street and 12th Avenue, the Miami Herald reported.
Both officers shot at the man. Police have not released any other information, including the names of the officers, the attacker, or the victim.
The incident marks four police-involved fatal shootings in Miami-Dade in the past two weeks. Others include Officer Adam Tavss’s shootings of a Miami Beach tourist and a suspected armed carjacker on Miami Beach. A suspected armed robber was also shot in North Miami-Dade.
