It figures: The only time construction doesn’t render portions of Biscayne Boulevard clogged with bumper-to-bumper traffic is when the road is closed completely.

As part of the two-year reconstruction plan, the portion of Biscayne currently under construction from NE 29th to NE 33rd streets will be closed between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. beginning December 13 and is expected to last approximately one month. Local access to residences and business will still be maintained. Crews will install several new water mains during the time. Let’s hope they don’t cause another flood.

The project, which began earlier this year, is expected to be completed in two years and will eventually see similar construction between NE 15th and NE 29th streets.
