Florida: Land of development. Land of gun lovers. It’s about time someone united those two identities into one project, and a proposed hotel tower in downtown Miami would do just that. Dubbed “The Museum Club,” the project would include hotel rooms, an actual museum, and shooting ranges for both guns and bows and arrows.
The property is proposed for the Art & Entertainment District at 1598 NE First Ave., according to the Next Miami. Owned by Ivan Sherman, an entity known as the Museum Club has been in existence for a while, and describes itself as a “Historical museum with a vast collection of invaluable items related to the history of wars, firearms and weaponry” on Twitter.
The project will bring together a wide array of elements including a luxury dining, a day spa, the aforementioned shooting ranges, displays of both art and historical artifacts, and a boutique hotel. Ninety-seven rooms in all will be available for guests. A parking garage will include a 24-spot robotic garage and 12 traditional spaces.
The lot is currently being used to display outdoor art, but after being approved by city zoning officials recently, construction on the Itec Design-designed building is cleared to start soon.

The project is the latest to come to the booming area just north of the Park West neighborhood. Gloria and Emilio Estefan are also developing Melody, a condo tower nearby.
