Ryan Braun has reportedly been suspended for the rest of the season over his connection to Biogenesis, the Coral Gables anti-aging clinic that New Times first reported was tied to selling performance-enhancing drugs to Major League Baseball players.

ESPN’s T.J. Quinn reports that Braun will not fight the suspension and has apologized to fans and teammates.

“As I have acknowledged in the past, I am not perfect. I realize now that I have made some mistakes,” Braun said in a statement, Quinn reports. “I am willing to accept the consequences of those actions.”

Braun had failed a drug test in 2011 but avoided a suspension in that case.

Quinn reports that Braun declined to appeal his suspension when confronted by MLB with “volumes of evidence” provided by Tony Bosch, who ran Biogenesis and agreed to help baseball with its investigation after MLB filed a lawsuit against him and his former business partners.

Braun starred at the University of Miami before heading to the big leagues in 2005.
