It’s bittersweet for Miami Hurricanes fans that Shane Larking, only a sophomore, is making the jump to the NBA, but apparently the dude is good at jumping. Like, really, really good at jumping. He posted the second highest vertical leap ever recorded during the NBA combine today, and the highest recorded in more than a decade.
At only 5’11, Larkin recorded a 44-inch vertical leap. Though, that falls 1.5 inches short of Kenny Gregory’s all-time record set in 2001, Larkin is pretty much dominating the combine.
He also clocked the best sprint time, and achieved the second-best standing vertical.

“Our strength coach did a lot of work at Miami,” Larkin told ESPN.
Larkin is currently projected by most analysts to go toward the end of the first round in the NBA draft, but perhaps these stats will help him (pun warning) leap up the board.
