Tropical Storm Isaac now has the vast majority of Florida in its cone of concern, with most models having it creep up the west coast early next week. Of course, there’s already a disaster planned for that are next week: the Republican National Convention in Tampa.
However, Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn says he’s ready to pull the plug on the RNC if Isaac threatens.
“Absolutely we’re prepared to call it off,” Buckhorn told CNN. “I mean, human safety and human life trumps politics. I think the RNC recognizes that.”
Yes, the Republican Party is pro-life, after all.

“I’m not worried about the hurricane pattern headed toward Tampa,” Slate’s Dave Weigle tweeted. “Florida has ways to shut that whole thing down.”
