Gawker is reporting that Billy Joel and wife, the 27-year-old Katie Lee, are separating and that some lies and deception may have been involved. And you know that where there’s L & D, there’s Miamiiiiii! Apparently, Miss Katie, former (and booring, compared to Padma) host of Bravo’s Top Chef and sandwich fixer at the SoBe Food & Wine Festival, was seen getting frisky with Israeli fashion designer Yigal Azrouel, in NY and dirty dancing in our lil’ ol’ town. They even served us a lil’ dig saying, “The two have been seen canoodling in Miami (of course).” Yeah, OF COURSE. It’s sexy as hell down here, and as my married neighbor once told me, “This is Miami, you’re supposed to cheat. Everybody does.” So, there. Joel’s wayward sugarchild couldn’t help herself — she was infected with the 305 Flu.
Joel’s spokesman claims that the split has nothing to do with Azrouel, and the happily separated couple issued a joint statement saying, “This decision is the result of much thought and consideration. Billy and Katie remain caring friends, with admiration and respect for each other.” Aww.
