For a school that used to be known as one of America’s greatest institutes of outdoor tanning practices the University of Miami has certainly improved its academic standings on President Donna Shalala. Though with that heightened emphasis on academic prestige comes more stress for students, and the school finds itself on The Daily Beast’s list of America’s 50 most stressful schools.
The Beast rated the schools based on cost ,competitiveness, acceptance rate, engineering program and crime on campus.
UM came in at number 41, higher than it’s U.S. News and World Reports rating of 47, with these statistics:
Tuition rank: 30th
Acceptance rate rank: 35th
Competitiveness rank: 49th
Engineering rank: 42nd
Crime rank: 17th
