Yesterday, we watched and listened as Bonnie Prince Billy, Cairo Gang, and Angel Olsen brought beautiful, soulful, sad music to Sweat Records.

But before they headed off to the steamy Little Haiti store, brimming with people, they swung by our very own MTV Woody-winning college radio station WVUM for a quick little session.

And luckily, it was all recorded for posterity.

The Program Director Kevin Mason was the lucky interviewer and he told Crossfade the song they played on this recording was a request from the Get On Jolly: Marquis del Tren series that Mason, “loved and lost in my old Saturn.” A tragic casualty of carelessly placed cassettes in cars now sold. He said, “I asked him to play my favorite song from it and he totally obliged. Warmed my soul!”
