For the second time since announcing his run for Miami-Dade mayor, Luther Campbell appeared on a Spanish-language television program to appeal to Hispanic voters. “Tio” Luke was the special guest on last night’s Ke Fuerte show on América TeVé, where he informed hosts Ivan and Carlucho that he has Cuban blood in his veins.
“My mother’s mother’s mother is Cuban,” Campbell noted, which prompted Carlucho to jump out of his chair in ecstatic delight. Ke Fuerte, which last week had fun undressing a cardboard version of county Commissioner Natacha Seijas, gave Campbell a campaign song, a key to the studio, and a despojo, a Santería ritual that cleanses a person of any wicked stuff. Now no one can stop Captain D.
