The battle to save the liveability of Miami-Dade County continues tonight.

If you haven’t heard, the Mayor’s office has proposed $11 million in cuts to the county’s arts programming budget, which would put roughly 400 arts organizations out of business.

Miami Today reported that the idea of a dedicated funding stream for arts programming–an idea floated at the Miami Science Museum meeting on August 3rd–is currently illegal, so our best shot at retaining funding remains showing up to these budget hearings.

Commissioner Rebeca Sosa will be at the Miami Children’s Hospital (3100 SW 62 Ave), today (August 18) at 6 p.m.
