There’s a lot to cover at Best of the Best, with so many headlining artist advertised, and with so many headliners also bringing the vague promise of unnamed “friends.” What’s more, neither fans nor artist sin the hip-hop and Caribbean music genres are really known for their punctuality. Still, with so much to see, it pays to arrive early, especially because noise restrictions around Bicentennial Park dictate that the show will have to end at midnight sharp. Maybe this will filter through to the artists — last year’s installment of the annua; concert came to an end that seemed abrupt to fans who had waited through multiple delayed set start times.
We’re crossing our fingers for a more specific list of set times, but until then, here’s a general breakdown of how the day will run. Artists of similar genres are grouped together, and as dancehall is probably the represented genre with the biggest tardiness problem, those acts will all go last.
- 1 p.m. – Gates open
- 1:30 p.m sharp – Concert starts
- 1:30 – 3 p.m. – “Opening acts”
- 3 to 7 p.m. – Reggae and soca
- 7 to 8 or 9 p.m. – Hip-hop
- 9 p.m. to midnight – Dancehall
