We communicate in 140 characters or fewer and read the newspaper on a 3.5-inch screen, so it’s safe to say small is the new awesome. Get ready for bite-size performance art this week as City Theatre brings its 15th annual, Carbonell Award-winning Summer Shorts Festival to the Carnival Studio Theater at the Arsht Center. The real treats are the bawdy scenarios in the late-night program Undershorts, which begins with a Friday performance at 10 p.m. and runs through June 26. Hear a neocon’s lovers get nasty in “Banging Ann Coulter,” watch a musical based on the Adam Sandler ditty “Piece of Shit Car,” and see what hilarity ensues when a new OB/GYN performs his first Pap. Undershorts’ highlight is the bromance “Extremely,” penned by former Weeds writer Rolin Jones.
Fri., June 4, 10 p.m., 2010
