I miss the old News of the Weird column. It always made me feel better to read about the ludicrous situations in other people’s lives.
A recent event in New Mexico had Chuck Shepard written all over it.
A place called Amigo’s Mexican Food was robbed by a “slim, masked man” who ended up getting more than he bargained for.
While trying to escape with the cash register, the robber was struck on the back of the head by an Amigo’s clerk, and dropped the register. The weapon of choice? A bag of frozen empanadas.

The clerk let out a guttural yell and released the empanadas with enough force to cause the robber to drop the register. If the empanadas had been from Gran Paris Bakery, the blow would have probably resulted in death.
