Colin Kaepernick just led the San Francisco 49ers to an NFC championship, but yesterday he had another team on his mind. Last season’s breakout QB was spotted wearing a Miami Dolphins hat at a Fourth of July party.

Kaepernick grew up in Milwaukee as a Green Bay Packers fan, went to college in Nevada, and has played in the NFL only for San Fran, so there’s no immediate explanation for his choice of headwear. He’s signed with the 49ers for two more seasons, so it’s not like there’s any immediate free agency signs he’d be trying to send either. According to his Twitter feed, he’s been in LA for the past few weeks, so he’s not even in Miami.
Maybe he just liked the hat because it matches his shoes? In fact, a look at his Instagram account reveals he’s a pretty big hat fiend and wears numerous caps of other teams. Just usually not other NFL teams.
