You’re at a bar. You’re drinking a beer. You’ve realized you’re out of money. Do you: a) call it quits; b) ask a friend to spot you; c) walk down the block and rob a bank?
A Pasco County man went with option C and is now behind bars.
Fifty-two-year-old John Robin Whittle had ordered a beer at the Hayloft Bar in Port Richey, Florida early Thursday afternoon. The bartender noticed that Whittle had gotten up for about 30 minutes in between sips, but didn’t think much of it.
Turns out Whittle had walked a few doors down to a Wells Fargo bank and robbed it, according to WTSP.

Deputies got a call that the bank had been robbed at about 1:42. It didn’t take them long to find Whittle. Ten minutes later they found him back inside the Hayloft Bar in front of his beer.
Whittle was charged on one count of robbery. No word if he got to settle his tab before heading off to jail.
