What good is an art show without food? No good, we say. Here’s a glimpse of some ways our eats got represented at this weekend’s Coconut Grove Arts Festival.

Is this really a piece of furniture or just the way someone justifies all those late night Pinot Noir binges? Artist Aaron Cramer of Urban Objects says his clients have to provide the 2,500 corks before commissioning. Bottoms up, folks.


If only our United Nations assembly blended together so well. This vendor has Spain (pinchos), Europe (sausages), America (hot dogs), the Middle East (shish kebobs), and Latin America (arepas) represented in one tiny trailer.

What would an art festival be without its own cake? Thank goodness Mighty Fine Cakes answered the call.

Before you ask, yes, these are pepper mills. Whatever other use you can think of has nothing to do with food so we don’t want to know.

Here in Miami we just get ants on our donuts when we leave them outside. Obviously in Austin, tiny people flock to discarded desserts. Amazing how this photographer captured the phenomenon, huh?
